(Judged "Best Travel Magazine" 5 consecutive years by 1998)

Vol. I #1 (Spring 1984) 1984 thru 1988 format In this time period there were four issues per year numbered and named Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. Issues were plus or minus 200 pages in the beginning but were thinning by 1989 when 6 issues per year were started.

1999 - March The first issue with a single month as the date of issue. 1999 issues totaled eight. (also April and Oct. were single month issues).

1999 (Oct.) This issue is dedicated to the 50 most significant places in the world visited by NG correspondents (who were polled for suggestions). These were then voted on by a panel of judges. ("Space" was choosen as the 51st place). This issue is a fitting release as the century closes, because even more that the "yellow borders," a Traveler inspires one to see many great places.
