1964 In 1964, NGS was proud of it's new building housing administrative
functions and the new Explorers Hall. This 9 1/4" x 4" brochure was the
first of many to follow which were handed out to visitors and explained the exhibits. This
one was found with a membership nomination leaflet. Dues were $6.50 annually and included
the years magazines.

1946 Postcard written from
Headquarters on Christmas Day and postmarked at Mt. Vernon the next day. I don't
suppose the recipients would ever suspect that this would make it's way from Carey, Ohio
to the Carey Collection in Calif. I bought this off the internet and was surprised
by the address. I've been in Ohio, but did not know there was a town of Carey.

subscribers to say they would be re-sending the March issue do to failure
(train incident) of the postal service to deliver the issues. A very
unusual situation, costly, and a rare letter.

1955 Commemorative of the
Presentation of Peary's Flag to the Society. Held on May 6, 1955 it is 7.5" x
10". Inside this folded heavy Stock has the Society Officers and Trustees and
the Program. On the back is information about the flag and the expedition to the

This is a Postcard made by NGS from a merit award picture in the 1st
Annual Traveler's (magazine) Photo Contest. It was submitted by Patricia Ryan and
