National Geographic Atlas Folio...1^st pr. This binder was sold to enable installation of the Atlas series of supplements to the magazines to make a "do it yourself" Atlas. (see maps list)

The Folio is complete when maps are properly installed (glued in) according to the list on the inside front cover....$45

1958

National Geographic Atlas Folio...1^st pr. This is a scan of the inside front cover of the Folio. This is the map check list that formed the instructions for assemply of the Folio. Shown is a clear overlay that has the month and year to the left of the entries that are the Altas Series Maps meant to be used. In 1958, not all of the entries were known and blank lines were printed for later additions. These lines have the map additions printed on the plastic overlay. Not enough Atlas Series Maps were ever done to fill all the blanks. (see the printable list above)

Index to the National Geographic Atlas Folio...1^st ed.

The blue paper cover is not too durable and subject to fading. This item is very difficult to find. By 1963, the National Geographic Society was ready to publish it's first true World Atlas which used the same contents as the Folio. This index is a separate binding of the contents that served both and was bound into the 1963 version when it was published (see below).

National Geographic Atlas of the World...1^st ed., 1^st pr. This is the first National Geographic Atlas ever produced. It is in the Deluxe version in a slipcase. When this version was ordered, the owners name could be embossed on the book cover. The name on this one is Lewis W. Boone....... $old

This edition was produced in a red soft cover standard version with dust jacket as well.
